Bitcoin held near $75,700 on Sunday, 8 November, after a weekend that never rebuilt the bounce above $80,000. Yahoo Finance showed an early Sunday print of $75,722.15, down 0.08%, inside a session range of $75,518.66 to $76,101.30. TokenPost recorded a snapshot at $76,000.40, up 0.31% on that window, then a later spot quote of $75,889 at 2:54 a.m. ET, down 0.19% over 24 hours. Friday's slide is in Thursday night's markets note.
A tight weekend range after Friday's drop
The coin has now spent the weekend where it closed the week. Yahoo's Friday close was $75,746.93. Saturday, on a Tindex table, finished near $75,808 after a high of $76,198 and a low of $75,639. The Economic Times had bitcoin at $76,036 on Saturday afternoon, with the global crypto market cap up 0.4% to $2.64 trillion. That is a pause, not a repair. Wednesday's trade back above $80,000 is still the week's high, and Thursday's Nasdaq drop of 5.5% is what took it away.
Friday's employment report is the macro reason the bounce did not return. US employers added 165,000 jobs in October and unemployment fell to 4.1%, covered in the economy briefing. Traders marked a December Federal Reserve hike back near 77%. Spot bitcoin funds, meanwhile, finished the week $1.28 billion in the red and negative for 2026, in today's flow note.
Ether stays near $2,230
Ether did not lead the weekend either way. Yahoo had ETH-USD near $2,234 early Sunday, down about 0.4%, after a Saturday close of $2,236.32 and a Friday close of $2,235.05. The Economic Times put ether at $2,244 on Saturday, up 0.8% on the day, with BNB, Solana, and Dogecoin firmer and XRP lower. That leaves ether about $200 under Wednesday's jump above $2,400. Spot ether ETFs lost $365.3 million last week, a sixth straight negative week.
Tuesday's inflation print is the next price test
Cash crypto can trade through the weekend. The rates market cannot. October CPI arrives on Tuesday, 10 November, at 8:30 a.m. ET, the last major inflation print before the Fed meets on 8 and 9 December. A hot number would support the hike case that already pinned bitcoin under $76,000. A cool one would be the first clean chance to test whether $75,500 is a floor or a pause. Gold near $4,070 and Brent near $98 are in the commodities update. Follow the week on the markets desk.
