U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs posted a $236.46 million net outflow on 1 September, reversing Monday's $217 million rebound, while Ether, XRP, and Solana funds all stayed green. SoSoValue put BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust, ticker IBIT, at $201.18 million of redemptions. Farside Investors showed a similar $236.5 million complex total, with Fidelity's FBTC shedding $43.7 million and Bitwise's BITB taking in $8.4 million. Bitcoin traded near $77,517. Category net assets sit near $97.12 billion, about 6.25% of BTC market cap. Cumulative net inflows remain about $54.61 billion. One red day does not unwind August's $3 billion-plus haul. It does mean Monday's IBIT-led snapback did not stick.

Spot Ether ETFs took in $10.95 million, a 12th consecutive session, according to SoSoValue. That is a sharp step down from Monday's $87.7 million print. BlackRock's iShares Ethereum Trust, ticker ETHA, added about $11.2 million. Fidelity's FETH printed $4.81 million. Morgan Stanley's MSSE added $2.34 million. Grayscale's ETHE offset part of the bid with a $7.4 million outflow. Category net assets sit near $15.21 billion, about 5.21% of ether's market cap. Cumulative net inflows are about $13.07 billion. The streak is the longest since the products launched in July 2024. The clip is no longer the story. Survival of the bid is.

XRP and Solana bought as spot sold off

XRP spot ETFs added $14.38 million, more than Ether's dollar print, with Franklin's XRPZ taking $6.63 million. Cumulative net inflows sit near $1.68 billion. XRP itself traded near $1.35, down about 2.3% on the day. Solana products took in $10.19 million, led by Bitwise's staking fund, ticker BSOL, at $6.17 million. That is a rebound from Monday's $925,010 trickle. SOL traded near $100.13. See why BSOL still holds most of the Solana wrapper. Prices fell across all four coins. Creations in the alt funds did not stop the tape. They did show allocators rotating inside the complex rather than leaving crypto wrappers as a group.

Two dates sit in front of the next print

The Senate's CLARITY Act cloture vote is 15 September. The FOMC decision is 16 September. Friday's August jobs report lands first, at 8:30 a.m. Eastern on 4 September. A hawkish Fed after Brent's move above $95 is the simpler explanation for IBIT redemptions than a thesis change. If Ether stays green while Bitcoin stays red into those dates, the debasement bid has split. If both go red, Tuesday was the start of a pause, not a rotation. The funds still hold tens of billions. One session is a flow, not a funeral.
