US spot bitcoin and ether ETFs shed about $530 million on Thursday, 5 November, as bitcoin fell back under $76,000. Cointelegraph, citing SoSoValue, said bitcoin funds lost $430 million and ether funds about $100 million. That reversed Wednesday's combined inflow of about $128 million, when bitcoin briefly traded above $80,000. Wednesday's flow is in yesterday's ETF note.

Fidelity led the bitcoin ETF withdrawals

Farside Investors data, as reported by Cointelegraph, showed Fidelity's Wise Origin Bitcoin Fund (FBTC) with roughly $200 million of outflows after taking in about $237 million on Wednesday. BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) lost another $105 million. That stretched IBIT's outflow streak to five sessions and put withdrawals since 30 October above $1 billion. Year-to-date net outflows for the bitcoin ETF group stood near $510 million after Thursday's close.

Flows followed the stock selloff, not a new crypto headline

Cointelegraph said the Nasdaq Composite plunged 5.5% on Thursday, its biggest one-day drop since April 2025. Bitcoin's Friday price near $75,700 is in the jobs-day markets note. Analyst Michaƫl van de Poppe wrote on X that bitcoin could find a near-term low on Friday, possibly after a sweep under $75,000, and that he expected the Nasdaq to bottom the same day. Friday's payrolls report is the next test for that view. See the latest prices on the markets desk.
