US spot bitcoin and ether exchange-traded funds lost a combined $538.3 million on Monday, 2 November, extending withdrawals in both groups. TokenPost put bitcoin funds at $398.6 million of net outflows and ether funds at $139.7 million. The bitcoin figure was a second straight day of withdrawals. Ether funds logged a sixth straight day. A net outflow means more money left the funds than entered them in that session.

Monday follows Friday's $643 million bitcoin redemption

TokenPost said Monday's bitcoin withdrawals followed a $643.2 million net outflow on 30 October, the session that ended a four-day run of bitcoin-fund inflows. SoSoValue's tally for that Friday, used in yesterday's ETF note, was $643.3 million, the largest day since 25 June, and left 2026's net inflow barely positive with assets near $98.14 billion. Friday's ether outflow on that same SoSoValue reading was $155.9 million. The two sources differ by a tenth of a million dollars on the bitcoin print. Both describe a large Friday exit and another large Monday exit.

The price is back near $76,500 as elections open

Bitcoin traded near $76,500 on Tuesday morning, below Monday's early push toward $78,600. That tape is in today's price note. The withdrawals landed after Binance disclosed a $6.3 billion hack and customers began pulling coins. The user-protection fund now holds about 7,500 bitcoin, in the SAFU story. US midterms are Tuesday, and September job openings land at 10 a.m. Eastern, in the economy briefing. Follow fund flows on the markets desk.
