Bitcoin traded near $75,700 on Friday, 6 November, after a one-day hold above $80,000 failed. TokenPost put the coin at $75,611 at 08:17 UTC, down 6.06% over 24 hours. Ether was $2,227.50 at the same time, down 8.02%. ATFX had a similar snapshot, with bitcoin near $75,700 and ether down about 8.5%. Thursday's close above $80,000 is in yesterday's markets note.

The post-election bounce did not last a full session

CryptoTicker had an earlier Friday print near $75,692, about $5,000 under Thursday's peak near $80,721, with a session low around $75,230. That left the coin under its 100-day line, which the desk put near $76,950. The 200-day line sat closer to $73,200. A live quote later in the morning was still near $75,940.

The drop tracked US stocks. The Nasdaq Composite fell 5.5% on Thursday, its worst day since April 2025, while the Invesco QQQ Trust slid 6.49% and the Philadelphia Semiconductor Index lost more than 12%, TokenPost and Cointelegraph reported. Delta Exchange counted about $1.18 billion in crypto liquidations over 24 hours, including about $1.04 billion in long positions. Spot bitcoin and ether ETFs lost a combined $530 million on Thursday, covered in today's flow note.

October payrolls are the next price test

The Bureau of Labor Statistics releases the October employment report at 13:30 GMT. ATFX said economists look for 65,000 new jobs after 29,000 in September, an unemployment rate of 4.2%, and average hourly earnings up 0.3% on the month. CME FedWatch, on ATFX's reading, priced about a 66% chance of a December rate hike, down from 79.9% a week earlier. A firm report would support the dollar and yields. A soft one would ease that pressure, though a weak print can also be read as a growth scare. The economy briefing has the rates setup. Gold near $4,060 and Brent near $99 are in the commodities update. Follow the session on the markets desk.
